ABOUT THE ARTIST

Vega Vega’s (b. 1994) art is filled with over-saturated color, gestural scribbles, and palpable texture. In her eclectic style, she paints to bring more life, more playfulness, and more color to people’s homes. Her art is not simply made to fill an empty wall, but to act as a visual reminder to feast your eyes on the world around you and enjoy its unique beauty.

Her process involves careful color choices, multiple tools, and an extra dose of wild scribbling, scratching, or plastering on globs of paint that give dimension to her work. She primarily uses acrylics but uses several secondary materials such as tempera sticks, oil pastels, graphite, and ink.

Vega Vega is currently stationed in colorful and creative Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she has professionally studied many traditional art techniques and even more through the observation of other local artists; however, she credits most of her learning from personal exploration. Her works are featured in collections across the United States and the UK.
